GAME SUMMARY
Tied 1-1 headed for the fourth quarter, Eagles freshman Adelle Foss (Farmington, Maine) notched her first career game-winning goal just over three minutes into the final period.
A defensive zone turnover by the Hawks created the opportunity for Foss and the Eagles at 48:08. Eagles freshman Victoria Friend (Detroit, Maine) received a pass near the left post of the Hawks goal. Friend shoveled a one-time pass to the front of the goal toward Foss and on a diving shot, Foss gave Husson a 2-1 lead with her sixth goal of the season.
Husson trailed 1-0 at the half but struck early in the third quarter to tie the match.
Friend has her hand in the game-tying goal at 33:34, firing a shot from close range that was deflected into the Becker goal by freshman Caroline Johnson (Lewiston, Maine) for her sixth goal of the season, tying the game at 1-1.
Becker held the lead starting in the middle of the first quarter on a goal by senior Lauren Niemann (Bay Shore, N.Y.).
Off a penalty corner, the ball made its way to junior Abigail Leahy (Charlton, Mass.), who fired a shot on goal that was deflected by Niemann for her second goal of the season at 8:46.
FOR THE HAWKS
- Leahy grabbed her second assist of the season on the Hawks first quarter tally.
- Sophomore Baileigh Griese (Woodstock, N.Y.) made five saves for the Hawks but drops to 6-11 with the loss.
FOR THE EAGLES
- For Friend, it's her second multi-point game of the season and the first time in her career with a two-assist game.
- Freshman Kimmie Goddard (Westbrook, Maine) earned the win in goal for Husson and improves to 7-6 this year.
