LEICESTER, Mass. – Hawks freshman Cassidhe Wozniak (Turners Falls, Mass.) piled up four points on two goals and two assists for Becker last week and has been named the Colonial Hockey Conference Rookie of the Week and the Becker Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on January 19.

In a home-and-home series with the University of Southern Maine last Friday and Saturday, Wozniak scored one goal and added an assist in each game against the Huskies.

On Friday, Wozniak capped off a three-goal second period for the Hawks, scoring an unassisted goal in what became the game-winning goal in the Hawks 4-3 victory. Wozniak added a power-play assist earlier in the second period.

On Saturday, Wozniak nearly forced overtime with a late, third-period goal, that tied things at 4-4. A Huskies goal with 1:29 remaining eventually gave USM the victory, 5-4. Wozniak added a second period assist that cut the deficit to 3-2 at the time.

The four-point week for Wozniak gives her six goals and four assists on the season. Her 10 points are fourth-most on the team and second-most among first-year players.

The Hawks sit at 6-9-0 and return to CHC play with a home-and-home series with the University of New England on Friday and Saturday. Hawks host on Friday at 7:10, followed by a trip to UNE for a 4:00 p.m. game on Saturday.
