Wozniak Named Becker Athlete of the Week Following Two-Point Sunday Night

LEICESTER, Mass. - Hawks sophomore Cassidhe Wozniak (Turners Falls, Mass.) scored one goal and added one assist, totaling two points on Sunday afternoon against the University of Southern Maine and with that two-point night, Wozniak has been named the Becker Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on Feb. 14.

Wozniak's goal came early in the third period on a breakaway, thanks to a stretch pass out of the defensive zone by junior Julia Ravenelle (Barrington, N.H.). The pass from the Hawks defensive zone into the neutral zone bounced its way to Wozniak, who batted the puck out of the air, skated away from defenders, and fired a shot from in between the hash marks over the blocker of the Huskies goalie.

In her assist, Wozniak made a play along the defensive left-wing board that sprung sophomore Shelby Reaugh (Raleigh, N.C.) into the neutral zone as she picked up speed. Reaugh made her way through the offensive zone, into the left-wing circle, and beat the USM goalie under the glove-side arm with a wrist shot.

Wozniak leads the Hawks with four points (2G, 2A) this season and has recorded at least one point in each of the Hawks first three games.

Becker opens a home-and-home series on Feb. 19 and 20 with Anna Maria College.
