Amber Lee's 25-Save Shutout Earns Her Becker Athlete of the Week Honors

Becker's Athlete of the Week for Feb. 28, from women's ice hockey, sophomore goalie Amber Lee

LEICESTER, Mass. – Hawks sophomore Amber Lee (Nashua, N.H.) made 25 saves last Friday night at New England College on her team's way to a 1-0 win. Lee's shutout, her first of the season, has resulted in her being named the Becker Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on Feb. 28.

Lee made her fourth start of the season last Friday night and needed to be perfect in preserving the Hawks 1-0 victory.

Hawks sophomore Shelby Reaugh (Raleigh, N.C.) provided the game-winning goal early in the third period for Becker while Lee made her best save of the night with 7:51 remaining in the third on a breakaway by a Pilgrims forward.

The win improved Lee's record to 2-2-0 this season and dropped her GAA dramatically down to a 2.75.

The 25-save game also moves Lee into a tie for second for most shutouts in a career in program history. Lee has three shutouts in 17 career appearances for the Hawks.

The Hawks would go on to sweep NEC in a home-and-home series with a 3-2 win over the Pilgrims last Saturday night.

Becker returns to action with a weekend home-and-home with Connecticut College on March 6 and 7 this week. The Hawks travel to Conn. College on March 6 for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop, followed by hosting the Camels on March 7 at 3:40 p.m. at Worcester Ice Center.
