GAME SUMMARY
Two goals scored 32 seconds apart took Connecticut College from down 2-1 to ahead 3-2 early in the third period.
The tying goal came on an unassisted goal from senior Erin Dillon (Hazlet, N.J.). Dillon won a puck battle and forced a turnover in the left-wing circle of the Hawks zone. She then faked the shot on Hawks sophomore goalie Maddy Morgan (Riverside, Calif.), causing her to commit to the fake, leaving room on the far side to score and tie the game 2-2.
Senior Mairi Anthony (Stoneham, Mass.) gave the Camels their first lead of the afternoon a short time later to take a 3-2 edge.
First-year Rylie Griffith (West Hartford, Conn.) had her shot from the right point stopped by Morgan, but the rebound found the stick of Anthony, who scored on the put back to give Connecticut College a one-goal advantage.
With the game still in the balance, later in the third, Connecticut College netted three more goals in the span of 3:28 on their way to the win. Camels sophomore Melanie Conca (Nutley, N.J.), Dillon, and Anthony all scored in the span to make it 6-2.
Becker was on the board early in the first period on the fifth goal of the season for junior Clare Conway (Billerica, Mass.).
The Camels faced pressure leaving their defensive zone and a pass up the slot of the ice was picked off by Conway, who fired a wrist shot past Camels junior goalie Carly Denora (Verona, N.J.) to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead.
Becker doubled their advantage 1:54 later with sophomore Shelby Reaugh (Raleigh, N.C.) netting her second goal of the season on a great display of individual effort.
Reaugh took possession of the puck right in front of the Hawks bench and turned up-ice for the offensive zone. Reaugh came into the zone on the left-wing side, cut inside past a Camels defender, and beat Denora on the blocker side for a 2-0 lead.
The Camels would cut the 2-0 deficit in half with 5:40 remaining in the second period thanks to senior Caitlyn Wilkin (Barre, Vt.) and her first goal of the season.
