BURRILLVILLE, R.I. – Sophomores Katie Puumala (Framingham, Mass.) and Cassidhe Wozniak (Turners Falls, Mass.) both scored two goals for the Becker Hawks on their way to a 4-2 win on Saturday night over Nichols College.

GAME SUMMARY
Tied at 2-2 midway through the third period, Puumala put the Hawks ahead with her second goal of the game with 11:49 remaining in the game.
On a 5-on-4 advantage, Puumala received the puck near the goal line of the left-wing and skated out toward the left-wing circle. She quickly fired a shot on net, beating Bison senior Abby Bassett (Burrillville, R.I.) to give the Hawks a 3-2 lead.
Wozniak added an insurance goal with 3:19 remaining to give the Hawks a 4-2 lead. Wozniak received a pass from behind the goal and shot past the glove of Bassett to give the Hawks a two-goal lead.
FOR THE HAWKS
- Wozniak's pair of goals gives her a team-high nine to finish out the season.
- Puumala's two-goal night gives her six to finish the year.
- Sophomore Amber Lee (Nashua, N.H.) made 37 saves on the night, improving to 5-3-0 with the victory.
FOR THE BISON
- Senior Mel McAleer (Hanson, Mass.) and sophomore Sarah Zeidan (West Newton, Mass.) each scored for the Bison. McAleer's goal gives her a team-high three on the year and five points overall.
- Bassett finished with 30 saves on the night, but the loss takes her to 0-4-0.
SEASON RECAP
The season is finished for the Hawks, who end the shortened 2021 season with a record of 6-5-1. Junior Clare Conway (Billerica, Mass.) finished the season with six goals and 10 assists for a team-high 16 points. Puumala (15) and Wozniak (13) were the only others to finish the year with double-digit point totals.
