Leicester, Mass.- Becker College junior catcher Todd Tompkins (West Haven, Conn.) has been named to the Division III Capital One Academic All-District I Baseball first team by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA). It marks the first time since Becker joined the NCAA in 1998 that a student-athlete has earned such an honor.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
Tompkins, an elementary education major, leads the New England Collegiate Conference with a .496 batting average, a .614 on base percentage and a .835 slugging percentage. His batting average is currently the third highest in Division III.
