LEICESTER, Mass. – Hawks junior Andrew Bumpus (Carver, Mass.) is out to a fast start this season, batting 2-for-4 on Opening Day for the Hawks and as a result, Bumpus has been named the Becker Athlete of the Week for the week ending on March 7.

In the Hawks season debut, Bumpus factored in all the runs scored for the Hawks with a double, a triple, a run scored and two RBI.

In two exhibition games before the season officially began, Bumpus batted 2-for-5 in a pair of games to get ready for the regular season.

Bumpus and the baseball program have just one game on the schedule this week; a Wednesday afternoon game against Anna Maria at the New England Baseball Complex with first pitch set for 3:30 p.m.
