NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – High-scoring second and fourth innings by Anna Maria and a 3-for-4 day with three RBI by senior Adam Twitchell (Shrewsbury, Mass.) helped the AMCATS to a 16-4 victory over the Becker Hawks on Wednesday afternoon.

GAME SUMMARY
A four-run, top of the second by the Hawks thanks to RBIs from freshman Carter Jackman (Kanab, Utah) and senior Noah Rivera (New Bedford, Mass.) put the Hawks in front early 4-1.
The lead was short-lived as the AMCATS scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 7-4 lead.
With a bases-loaded, junior Zac Genovezos (Fairhaven, Mass.) cleared the bases with a double down the left-field line to start the high-scoring inning and tie the game 4-4.
Later in the inning, Twitchell singled home Genovezos to take a 5-4 lead. The six-run inning was capped off with the help of a throwing error and wild pitch, allowing two more runs to score, giving Anna Maria a 7-4 edge.
A third-inning, two-RBI single by junior Kosta Drosidis (Holden, Mass.) and a fourth-inning, two-RBI single by Twitchell added to the Anna Maria lead.
AMCATS sophomore James Powers (Folsom, Calif.) added to the lead later in the fourth on a two-RBI double to right field, popping the lead to 13-4.
FOR THE HAWKS
- Freshman Ethan Perry (Dartmouth, Mass.) batted 2-for-5 with a pair of singles.
- Junior Andrew Bumpus (Carver, Mass.) and freshman Stanley Vasquez (New York, N.Y.) each went 1-for-4.
- Sophomore Omar Garrido (Providence, R.I.) got the start for the Hawks but falls to 0-1 with the loss.
FOR THE AMCATS
- Twitchell, Genovezos, and Powers all had three RBI on the day. Powers went 3-for-6 at the plate, including a pair of doubles.
- The AMCATS offense is on fire through four games this year. Anna Maria has scored 61 runs in those four games and have scored at least 10 runs in all four of their games.
- Sophomore Brock Eskildsen (Murrieta, Calif.) pitched a nearly perfect three innings, allowing no hits while giving up one walk and striking out three Hawks. The victory moves him to 1-0.
UP NEXT
The next game scheduled for the Hawks is a March 24 game at Brandeis University at 3:30 p.m. The AMCATS play a doubleheader on March 13 at Eastern Connecticut State starting at noon.
