LYNN, Mass. – Four-run first and second innings by the Fisher College Falcons is all the offense they would need on Sunday afternoon as they defeated the Becker Hawks 8-0.

GAME SUMMARY

The Falcons got on the board early in the bottom of the first. Sophomore John Batista (Lawrence, Mass.) added to the early lead with a two-RBI double to center field to give Fisher a 3-0 lead.

Batista would score later in the inning on a wild pitch, helping the Falcons to a 4-0 lead through one inning.

Fisher would match that four-run inning in the second, starting with an RBI double to right field by freshman Emanuel Rosario (Bayamon, Puerto Rico).

Back-to-back RBI singles would jump the lead to 7-0 Fisher, as freshman Dennis Santiago (Orlando, Fla.) would finish off the scoring in the inning with his own RBI single, giving the Falcons an 8-0 advantage.

 

FOR THE HAWKS

  • Seniors Noah Rivera (New Bedford, Mass.) and Jose Martinez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) and freshman Anthony Conforti (Peabody, Mass.) all had singles, accounting for Becker's three hits.
  • Freshman Russell Dunlap (North Attleboro, Mass.) got the start, pitching four innings, as the loss drops him to 0-1.

 

FOR THE FALCONS

  • Batista and junior Jonathan Rosado (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) each had two RBI on the afternoon.
  • Junior Elijah Perez (Lawrence, Mass.) pitched three innings for the Falcons and earned the win to go to 1-0.

 

UP NEXT

The Hawks travel to Eastern Connecticut State on Wednesday for a 4:00 p.m. game while the Falcons host two games against Saint Joseph's of Maine on Tuesday starting at 3:00 p.m.
