GAME SUMMARY

Early in the bottom of the first, a series of walks and hit batters loaded the bases with one out for Anna Maria. Senior Noah Holland (Sandwich, Mass.) cleared the bases with a double down the left-field line, giving the AMCATS a 3-0 lead.

After an RBI single later in the inning by senior Jason Shell (Sandwich, Mass.) made it 4-0, AMCATS junior Nick Morley (Millbury, Mass.) stepped in and delivered a two-run home run to right-field, capping a six-run first inning for Anna Maria.

The Hawks did find responses in the top of the second with an RBI single by sophomore Niko Mokanos (Montvale, N.J.) and back-to-back, bases-loaded hit batters to cut the deficit to 7-3.

Five more runs in the bottom of the fourth by the AMCATS, three of them on RBI singles, stretched their lead to 12-3.

Becker added a pair of runs in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by freshman Ethan Perry (Dartmouth, Mass.) and an RBI single for junior Andrew Bumpus (Carver, Mass.) in the eventual 12-5 loss.
