WESTWOOD, Mass. – The Lynx used a high-scoring first inning in game one to take the opening game while the Hawks used a high-scoring sixth inning in game two to force a split of Sunday's doubleheader.

GAME ONE: Lesley 14 – Becker 6
The Lynx win was nearly guaranteed after the first inning, scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the first to control the action early.
Almost unheard-of, Lesley scored their first nine runs of the inning without recording a single hit. A series of walks and hit batters helped the Lynx to a 3-0 lead.
Fielder's choices and errors helped the Lynx add to their lead before another series of walks and an RBI groundout helped Lesley to a 7-0 edge.
With their first hit of the game, junior Ian Spillane (Chula Vista, Calif.) hit a triple, scoring two runs, and increasing the Lynx lead. Spillane would later score on a groundout to lead 10-0.
The Hawks got on the board in the top of the second with three runs to cut the deficit to 10-3. Senior Mel Gonzalez (Worcester, Mass.) had an RBI double in the second.
Lesley responded in the bottom of the inning, taking back their 10-run lead with a bases-clearing triple by graduate student Giovanni Torres, to lead 13-3.
The Hawks never got closer than seven runs in game one as the Lynx went on to a 14-6 victory.

For Lesley, Torres batted 2-for-4 with three RBI and a triple. Senior Michael Fiorelli (Rutland, Mass.) was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored.
For Becker, Gonzalez finished 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Freshman Anthony Conforti (Peabody, Mass.) batted 1-for-3 with a triple. Senior Kevin Santiago (New Bedford, Mass.) was 1-for-4 with two RBI.

GAME TWO: Becker 12 – Lesley 4
The afternoon's second game was a close contest until a nine-run outburst in the top of the sixth would help lead Becker to the win and a split of Sunday's doubleheader.
Trailing 4-3 entering the sixth, the Hawks would take advantage of a series of walks and hit batters to eventually take a 5-4 lead.
With the bases loaded, Conforti delivered with his biggest hit of the afternoon, a two-run double, helping the Hawks to a 7-4 edge.
Run-scoring singles by senior Jose Martinez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico), freshman Carter Jackman (Kanab, Utah), Santiago, and senior Coby Hussey (Claremont, N.H.) would all add to the Becker lead in the nine-run inning, on their way to the eventual 12-4 victory.
The Hawks were up 3-0 in the early stages thanks to a passed ball and a two-RBI single by freshman Ben Costa (Dartmouth, Mass.).
Lesley used a four-run fifth to take a 4-3 lead. An RBI double by senior Steven DePalma (Albertson, N.Y.) and a two-run home run by Fiorelli tied the game 3-3. The Lynx took the lead later in the inning on an RBI single by senior Chris Papallo (Southbury, Conn.).

For Becker, Santiago was 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, and two runs scored. Costa finished 2-for-4, both singles and two RBI.
For Lesley, Papallo was 3-for-3 in the game, all singles, and an RBI. Fiorelli was 1-for-4 with his first home run of the year.
