New England Collegiate Conference Release

LEICESTER, Mass. – Hawks senior Kevin Santiago (New Bedford, Mass.) had a strong showing at the plate and for his team this weekend and has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Baseball Player of the Week, for the week ending on April 11.

With his weekly honor as Baseball Player of the Week, Santiago has also claimed the Becker Athlete of the Week.

Santiago went 7-for-15 at the plate this weekend in a four-game series with Lesley. His .467 batting average on the week included his first career collegiate home run, a three-run shot to left field in the first game of the four-game series.

He added two doubles, four runs scored, and seven RBI as the Hawks went 3-1 this weekend against the Lynx.

Becker is now 3-9 this season and 3-1 in the NECC as they look ahead to a four-game series with Elms College this upcoming weekend. The Hawks travel to the Blazers on April 17 while Becker will host on April 18, starting at 12:00 p.m.
