Seven Baseball Hawks Named to NECC All-Conference Teams

LEICESTER, Mass. and MANSFIELD, Mass. – Seven Hawks baseball players were named to the All-Conference Teams in the New England Collegiate Conference, following a vote by the coaches of the NECC and announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.

Senior pitcher Tevon Johnson (New Bedford, Mass.) and senior second baseman Coby Hussey (Claremont, N.H.) were both named to the All-Conference First Team at their positions.

Senior Kevin Santiago (New Bedford, Mass.) and freshmen Russell Dunlap (North Attleboro, Mass.), Ethan Perry (Dartmouth, Mass.), and Silas Thomas (Sequim, Wash.) were all placed on the All-Conference Second Team.

Santiago and Thomas were named to the outfield while Dunlap was recognized as a pitcher and Perry was recognized as a designed hitter.

Senior Cooper Harris (Winnetka, Ill.) was named to the Del Malloy Sportsmanship Team for 2021.

Mitchell junior outfielder Dougie DelaCruz (Uncasville, Conn.) was voted the 2021 NECC Player of the Year, picking up the award for the second time (2019). His teammate Roland Thivierge (Portland, Conn.) also earned Pitcher of the Year honors for the second time (2019).  New England College's Garrett Langis (Rochester, N.H.) was named Rookie of the Year, and Mitchell head coach Travis Beausoleil was voted Coach of the Year by his peers.
