LEICESTER, Mass. – Hawks senior Kyra Teixeira (Old Lyme, Conn.) continued her career-best season with three goals in two matches for Becker and for the fourth time this season, Teixeira has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week, for the week ending on October 27.

Her nomination as the NECC Player of the Week has earned her the Becker Athlete of the Week for the third time in nine weeks.

Teixeira began the week with a pair of goals in a 5-0 victory over Mitchell on Wednesday. On Saturday, Teixeira took responsibly into her hands scoring the game-winning golden goal in a 1-0 overtime victory over Elms on Senior Day.

Teixeira is up to 18 goals in 18 games this season, leading the NECC in all competitions. She's added six assists, totaling 42 points. In seven NECC games, Teixeira leads the conference with seven goals and 16 points.

Since a 6-0 loss on Sept. 21 to Lesley to start their NECC schedule, Becker is outscoring opponents 28-2 in all competitions, including outscoring NECC teams 14-1 over that time. Since that loss, the Hawks are 8-1-1, including 5-1 in the conference.

Having finished the conference season 5-2, the Hawks have earned the right to host at least one NECC Playoff game this season. Postseason schedules will be announced following the conclusion of play on Wednesday.

Becker wraps up their season with a non-conference match on Wednesday as the University of Maine at Fort Kent makes the nearly eight-hour journey south to face the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Alumni Field.
