United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award Release | All-Time College Team Academic Award Recipients (Women)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time in program history, the Becker women's soccer team was awarded a United Soccer Coaches (USC) Team Academic Award as announced by the Association on Sept. 24.
The USC recognizes soccer programs at both the collegiate and high school levels, recognizing outstanding performance in the classroom for the 2019-20 academic year.
To be eligible for the honors, college award recipients must be active members of the USC College Services Program and have a composite GPA of at least 3.00 for all rostered players in the 2019-20 academic year.
"I'm very proud of this team's academic accomplishment," said women's soccer Head Coach Anthony Cosky. "This is a team award that I have been wanting for us since I started here three years ago and to finally get it shows how far this team has come. The credit goes to our student-athletes who work just as hard in the classroom as they do on the field."
In total, 889 men's and women's programs earned the USC Team Academic Award across all three Divisions of the NCAA, as well as programs from the NAIA and the NJCAA.
Three New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer programs were recognized by the USC for the 2019-20 academic year. Becker joins Eastern Nazarene College and New England College as programs from the NECC to be represented.
