LEICESTER, Mass. – After pitching of pair of complete games for the Hawks and coming away with an ERA of 0.54, Hawks junior Ashley Veillette (Danielson, Conn.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week and, as a result, also has been named the Becker Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on March 21.

In 13 innings pitches, Veillette allowed six runs, only one earned, while allowing 13 hits and striking out 11 in two games against Nichols over the weekend.

At the plate, Veillette batted .286 in four games against the Bison, including a pair of two-run home runs on Sunday. She finished the weekend with four hits, four RBI, and three runs scored as the Hawks are off to a 1-3 start this season.

The Hawks are set for a pair of doubleheaders this week, starting with a Tuesday doubleheader at Worcester State, followed by a Thursday doubleheader against Anna Maria.
