New England Collegiate Conference Release
LEICESTER, Mass. – A dual-threat for the Hawks this week, junior Ashley Veillette (Danielson, Conn.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week, for the week ending on March 28.
In addition to her NECC Honors, Veillette has earned her second-straight Becker Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance over four games for Becker.
In the pitching circle, Veillette made three appearances for the Hawks, finishing the week 2-0 with a 1.26 ERA and her first shutout of the season in a 6-0 win against Worcester State.
At the plate, Veillette batted 7-for-16 (.438), including a double and her team-leading third home run of the season against Anna Maria. She added five RBI and six runs scored in the four-game stretch for the Hawks this week.
Veillette is now on a six-game hitting streak and will look to continue her success as the Hawks open up NECC play on April 2 and 3, opening up a four-game series with Eastern Nazarene. The Hawks host Friday at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. while the Lions host on Saturday at noon and 2:00 p.m.
