A Message from the Vice President of Student Affairs and Director of Athletics, Frank Millerick
It is with great disappointment that I announce that the Becker College fall athletic programs have been suspended. These programs include men's and women's soccer and volleyball from the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC); football from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC); and equestrian, a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA). This decision was made based on our top priority to safeguard the health and welfare of all of our student-athletes as well as the entire Becker community.
It is important to note that it is Becker College's decision not to participate in football and equestrian and does not reflect any actions of the CCC or the IHSA.
This decision will also alter the start of Becker's winter athletic programs. Men's and women's ice hockey (CCC) and men's and women's basketball (NECC) have also been suspended for the fall semester. Again, it is Becker's decision not to participate in men's and women's ice hockey – a decision made independent from the CCC. As we move through the semester, Becker will re-evaluate the suspended programs to determine if they can be resumed in the winter/spring of 2021.
We look forward to seeing our Hawks in action in the near future.
