LANCASTER, Pa. – The memorable 2021 women's lacrosse season came to an end on Saturday afternoon in a 24-3 loss against the No. 6 Catholic University Cardinals in the First Round of the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament, hosted by Franklin & Marshall.

GAME SUMMARY
The sixth-ranked Cardinals started the game with the first seven goals, scoring in the span of 6:44 to hold a 7-0 lead.
Seniors Bridget Beck (Collegeville, Pa.) and Holly Regan (Stony Brook, N.Y.) both scored twice in the opening seven-goal run for the Cardinals.
Hawks junior Kylian Kelly (Shrewsbury, Mass.) got Becker on the board thanks to an assist from junior Julia Ravenelle (Barrington, N.H.) as the Hawks trailed 7-1.
The Cardinals netted the next four with four different goal scorers to take an 11-1 lead but Ravenelle found the back of the net next for the Hawks, assisted by junior Clare Conway (Billerica, Mass.) to make it 11-2.
The final four goals of the half belonged to Catholic, including a pair by freshman Mauria Blair (West Chester, Pa.), as the Cardinals led 15-2 after the first half.
The Cardinals outscored the Hawks 8-1 in the second half as Ravenelle scored the Hawks lone goal of the half on a free-position, as the No. 6 Cardinals advance to the second round of the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament with the 24-3 victory.
FOR THE HAWKS
- Ravenelle scored a pair of goals for the Hawks, one in each half. She also added an assist in the loss.
- Kelly scored the other goal for the Hawks on the afternoon and added a team-high three ground balls.
- Freshman goalie Chloe Isola (Oviedo, Fla.) made seven saves for the Hawks.
FOR THE CARDINALS
- Beck and sophomore Kate Olsen (Glen Mills, Pa.) each had hat tricks for Catholic.
- 15 different Cardinals scored for Catholic in the victory.
- Junior Rachel Searle (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) played the first half in the Cardinals goal, making two saves in the victory.
UP NEXT
The loss eliminates the Hawks from the NCAA Tournament while the No. 6 Catholic Cardinals advance to the Second Round and await the winner of Casenovia and St. John's Fisher.
