LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College men's basketball team lost 66-62 to visiting Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday afternoon at the Leicester Gymnasium on the campus of Becker College in Leicester.

FOR THE HAWKS OF BECKER
- Becker junior forward Jamir Carr (Philadelphia, Penn. / Universal Audenried) led the Hawks with 17 points while dishing out seven assists and pulling down four rebounds. Carr shot 7-of-12 from the floor and 1-of-2 from behind the arc.
- Junior forward Mateus Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil / Colegio Pedroso e Oliveira) filled the stat line with 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and a career-high six steals.
- Sophomore guard Jordan Rose-Wheatley (New Bedford, Mass. / Bridgton Academy) matched a career-high with 15 points in just 30 minutes, shooting 7-of-10 from the floor.
- Junior forward Guney Kilitcioglu (Istanbul, Turkey / The Koc School) continued his strong week with 11 points and four boards.
FOR THE LIONS OF EASTERN NAZARENE
- Eastern Nazarene senior guard Noah Cheney (Bend, Ore. / Mountain View) led the Lions with 15 points, shooting 3-of-4 from behind the arc.
- Senior guard Jacob Waldroop (Newland, N.C. / Avery County) totaled 13 points with four assists and four steals.
- Junior guard Luke Dagley (Weymouth, Mass. / South Shore Christian Acad.) came off the bench to score 12 points, shooting 4-of-6 from behind the arc.
- Collectively, the Lions shot 53.8 percent from behind the arc, accounting for 63.6 percent of their scoring.
TURNING POINT
- Becker burst out of the gate with a 12-0 run to start the game, only for Eastern Nazarene to rally in a three-point barrage. The teams went into halftime with the Hawks clinging to a 33-32 lead.
- In the second half, the Lions opened with a 16-2 run to take the lead, capped off with a three from Cheney. Eastern Nazarene would lead by as much as 17 at 58-41 before a late Becker rallied with a 16-0 run to pull to within one off a three-point play from Kilitcioglu with 4:59 to go. Down by one with 38 seconds remaining in the game, Ribeiro got a good look at a layup on for the ball to rattle out. The Hawks were soon forced to foul, and the Lions went 4-of-6 from the line in the closing moments to ice it.
UP NEXT
The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to New England College for an NECC contest against the Pilgrims at 7:00 p.m. The Lions face their next opponent next Saturday when they host the Lynx of Lesley University at 3:00 p.m.
