LEICESTER, Mass. – Blazers senior Angelica Peguero-Flores (Springfield, Mass.) notched a double-double on Saturday afternoon with game-highs of 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Elms Blazers defeated the Becker Hawks 72-37 at Leicester Gymnasium.

GAME SUMMARY
Tied at 11-11 with under two minutes in the first quarter, Elms pushed out to the first significant advantage in the game, scoring the final six points of the quarter to lead 17-11 after the first.
The Blazers added another 6-0 run over the span of 2:48 to start the second quarter, pushing their lead to a dozen, 23-11.
Elms went on to outscore Becker 13-4 in the second quarter, giving the Blazers a 30-15 lead at the half. Peguero-Flores led all scorers in the half with seven points.
Elms turned up the heat on offense coming out of the locker room for the second half. The Blazers shot 17-of-31 in the second half, scoring 21 points in both the third and fourth quarters, including a 16-0 run in the fourth, on their way to the 72-37 win.
FOR THE HAWKS
- Hawks senior Jazlyn Contreras (Westport, Mass.) led the Hawks with 14 points and three steals.
- Freshman Chloe LaPierre (Plainfield, Conn.) added 11 points in 37 minutes.
FOR THE BLAZERS
- Adding to the double-double, Peguero-Flores finished with two assists, two steals, and two blocks.
- Seniors Regina LeBlanc (Enfield, Conn.) and Waleska Kelly (Central Falls, R.I.) each had nine points.
UP NEXT
The Hawks are off until March 19 and 20 when they open a home-and-home series with the Eastern Nazarene Lions. ENC hosts Becker on March 19 at 4:30 p.m., then both sides head to Leicester Gym on March 20 for a noon tip-off.
