LEICESTER, Mass. – The Becker Hawks started strong in the first half, providing plenty of offense in their 18-7 victory over the Mitchell Mariners on a rainy Thursday evening in New England Collegiate Conference play.

GAME SUMMARY
The Hawks started Thursday's rainy conference game with three of the first four goals to lead 3-1. Juniors Clare Conway (Billerica, Mass.) and Julia Ravenelle (Barrington, N.H.), and sophomore Mikayla Leibowitz (Bethany, Conn.) scored to open the game while Mariners senior Hannah Corrigan (Fairfax, Vt.) scored for Mitchell to make it 3-1.
Becker took command from that point, scoring the next nine goals of the first half to dash out to a 12-1 advantage. Senior Arianna Calouro (East Providence, R.I.) scored three-in-a-row in that 9-0 scoring outburst. Conway and Ravenelle netted two each in the run that had Becker leading by 11.
The Hawks and Mariners traded late goals in the half, including the first of the season for Hawks sophomore Amber Lee (Nashua, N.H.), as Becker led 13-2 at the half.
Each side would score five goals in the second half, including three more for Corrigan. Conway scored two in the second half for the Hawks while junior Kylian Kelly (Shrewsbury, Mass.) capped off the scoring in the final minute on the way to the Hawks 18-7 victory.
FOR THE HAWKS
- Conway finished with five goals and four assists as she continues her climb up the all-time career scoring list. Her 131 career points has her with the sixth-most points in program history.
- Calouro scored four times for the Hawks, all coming in the first half. Ravenelle added three goals as she approaches the 100 career points mark.
- Kelly stuffed the stat sheet once again, finishing with one goal, two assists, seven draw controls, six ground balls, and five caused turnovers.
- Freshman Chloe Isola (Oviedo, Fla.) made seven saves in the victory, improving to 3-4 on the season.
FOR THE MARINERS
- Corrigan scored four goals for the Mariners and added five ground balls and five draw controls.
- Junior Daniella Holland (Nanuet, N.Y.) scored twice for the Mariners and added one assist.
- Senior Ashley Holdridge (Ledyard, Conn.) finished with 11 saves, falling to 0-3 with the loss.
