New England Collegiate Conference Release
LEICESTER, Mass. – Hawks junior Kylian Kelly (Shrewsbury, Mass.) continues to be an all-around force for Becker, being named the New England Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week, for the week ending on April 25.
It's the second consecutive week Kelly has been named the NECC Defensive Player of the Week and marks the fourth time in six weeks she has claimed the weekly honors.
In three games for the Hawks, Kelly collected 16 ground balls, 19 draw controls, and eight caused turnovers, as the Hawks went 3-0 in wins over New England, Mitchell, and Elms, on their way to claiming the NECC Regular Season Title and being named the No. 1 seed in the upcoming NECC Playoffs.
Offensive, Kelly impacted the game with five goals and three assists, as the Hawks ride a five-game winning streak into the postseason.
The playoffs get underway on Thursday as the top-seeded Hawks welcome the No. 4 seeded Mitchell Mariners to Alumni Field at 4:00 p.m. The winner of that match plays for the NECC Title on Sunday, May 2 against the winner of No. 2 New England and No. 3 Elms.
